Had a wonderful family shoot on the weekend. Three kids and not a tear in sight. Smiles all round and some great shots to boot! Here’s a quick collage of some of my favourites.
New FB Page
For any photogaphers out there who might like to join. I created this today. I think the group descripstion says it all:
“I wanted to create a place where photographers at all stages of their career could come and share, ask opinions and find support amongst similar minded folk. I don’t know everything about photography and don’t pretend to. I only started this jounrey a few short years ago and hope to continue on it for a long time to come. We’re all learning every day.
Only a couple of quick rules:
1. If someone is asking for CC, by all means be honest, people need to hear where they’re going wrong, but understand that your opinion is just that, an opinion and opinions differ. Photography is an art and not everybody appreciates the same art. Please be tactful and considerate of people’s feelings.
2.On the flip side – if you’re asking for CC, expect that you might hear something you don’t like. If you don’t want an honest opinion, don’t ask for it. And remember, it’s just an opinion, take what you need from it and move on.
3. Personal attacks will not be tolerated and anyone partaking in such attacks will be removed from the group.
4. Please post only one image a day.
5. Admin reserves the right to delete posts that are in breach of the rules without warning.
And that’s it. Pretty simple right? Happy chatting, feel free to vent away about the industry, ask as many questions as you like and suggest this page to others you may think are interested. “.
The Most Wonderful Time of the Year
Image
It’s that time of year again isn’t it? Getting close to Christmas is a crazy time of year in the photography business. Everyone is in panic mode trying to get those family portraits done in time to give away as Christmas presents or put on the front of their Christmas cards. Is anyone out there are organised? I’m certainly not, I’ve been too busy taking everyone elses pictures I haven’t even done my own yet! That will change this weekend. At least that’s plan.
Here’s a couple from a shoot I just finished editing. I think they radiate love and it’s a great reminder at this time of year that love is not just for the young.
And the Winner Is………..
Paula! Is anyone surprised that I only lasted two days. And I was going strong too! Then the weekend came and life got in the way. I had maternity shoot on Saturday morning for a gorgeous Mum to be, then Oktoberfest celebrations here last night and in between we’ve been very busy fixing our pool which has been broken for almost 6 months and anyone who knows anything about this place will know exactly why fixing the pool was our main priority. Of course most of today was spent cooling off in said pooI and every spare moment from now on will be spent doing just the same. And because so far this is a very non-photography related photography blog post I suppose I should mention that I do have some photos to share and I’ll make every effort to be back tomorrow.
Til then…..
The Last Baby Belly
Image
Well here I am, day two and going strong. It is almost bed time and I did just about drag myself to the computer to make it. But there’s no way I could pike on day 2! A challenge is a challenge and I’m determined to make it.
A few weeks ago I had the pleasure of taking some extra special belly photo’s for a friend of mine. All baby belly’s are special but this one pushes the limits of special just a little bit because it will be her last baby belly. It’s no great secret that this one was a bit of a surprise but I know that this new little one will be loved every bit as much as her first 4 beautiful babies.
As it turns out we were really lucky to do the shoot when we did. We did the photos in the morning and that afternoon she was on the Flying Doctors on her way to Cairns to try to stop labour. They were successful so now she’s crazy bored waiting for the newest addition to arrive in his own sweet time.
Anyway, time for some pictures.
Bring It On
In case you hadn’t noticed I’ve been slacking off on the blogging again lately but I’m not the only one. Paula from Second Nature Photography has trouble with it to! So she has ever so kindly issued a ‘blog post a day for a week’ challenge. I’m totally up for it and I’ve decided to ease myself back into it by giving a shout out to an awesome photographer from accross the Tasman. Check out her work.
Schmelting
There’s something about a man with a baby that just melts your heart every time. This is Grandad and Grandson from an extended family shoot I had a few weeks ago.

Not to mention the little guy was possibly one of the happiest babies I’ve ever met. There’s hardly a smile where he’s not smiling and turning on the charm for the camera. And at only six months old! Future model I reckon. The whole shoot was a pleasure.
Til next time……..
Christmas special!
Squishy Baby Goodness
Check out this little man’s hair! It’s amazing.
And at 5 weeks he’s already a jokester. Trying to get some nice sibling shots and look at his expression’s. It’s all about him you know;)

Except when it’s obviously not. This is his beautiful big sister.
And we can’t forget this cheeky little monkey. He wasn’t really playing the game on the day but I love this one. It portrays his attitude that day perfectly.
Til next time…………
Sweet Samuel
Last weekend I was lucky enough to photograph sweet baby Samuel. At just two weeks old he was the youngest baby I’ve ever photographed and he was an absolute pleasure. Look at how beautiful he is. This stuff makes my ovaries ache.
Just look at these cheeks
And I have to share one of his big sister. Isn’t she beautiful?
Just one more
I love my job. I’ll have more baby goodness to share once I finish editing my shoots from the weekend. I’m crazy busy right now and loving it
